Today we're launching VibeReady — an AI-native Next.js SaaS starter kit designed for the way people actually build software now, with AI. Not AI as a buzzword. AI as the primary way code gets written.
Vibe coding changed everything. You describe what you want, AI writes it. Prototypes that used to take weeks now take hours. But anyone who's shipped a real product this way knows the other side of the story — the side where feature ten contradicts feature three, where every AI-generated component invents its own patterns, and where your codebase slowly becomes unmaintainable.
We built VibeReady to fix that.
The problem isn't AI. It's that AI skips steps, forgets patterns between sessions, and has no structured process for going from idea to production. VibeReady gives AI the codebase context, the step-by-step workflows, and the battle-tested prompt library to stay consistent.
What We Built
VibeReady is a Next.js SaaS starter kit with two editions. The Starter edition includes our AI Framework — a structured system of project context files, skill libraries, and workflows that guide AI coding tools to generate consistent, production-quality code. The Pro edition adds a complete SaaS foundation on top: authentication, payments with Stripe, database with Drizzle ORM, email, admin dashboard, a working AI Assistant for your end users, and full production infrastructure.
What makes it different from other starter kits isn't what's in the codebase — it's what's around it.
The difference
Every starter gives you components and boilerplate. VibeReady also gives you the AI layer: structured documentation that AI tools actually read, skill files that encode how features should be built, and workflows that enforce consistency across every AI-generated commit.
When you ask Claude, Cursor, or any AI coding tool to "add a billing page," it doesn't just generate a billing page — it generates one that follows your project's patterns, uses your existing utilities, and matches the conventions already established in the codebase. That's the difference between vibe coding that works for a weekend project and vibe coding that works for a real product.
Built for the Vibe Coding Era
We're not fighting the vibe coding wave — we're building the infrastructure it needs. The data is clear: AI-generated code has 70% more issues and 4x more duplication than human-written code. Not because AI is bad at coding, but because it codes without context.
VibeReady's AI Framework solves this at the architectural level:
- Smart Context Router — AGENTS.md-based system that automatically feeds AI tools the right context for any task, so they understand your architecture before writing a single line
- Battle-Tested Skill Library — Structured workflows that encode how to properly build features, from PRD to production. Not just "what" to build, but "how" to build it following proven SaaS patterns
- Living Documentation — Auto-synced via Git hooks, so your AI context never goes stale. When the code changes, the docs update
- Quality Gates — Automated checks on every commit that catch pattern drift before it lands in your codebase. Context tells AI what to do; enforcement verifies it actually did it
Context without enforcement is just documentation that AI can ignore. VibeReady enforces consistency — not just suggests it.
AI Isn't Just for Development — It's for Your Users Too
Here's something most starter kits miss entirely: your users expect AI features in their products now. VibeReady Pro ships with a working AI Assistant built on Vercel AI SDK — 5 built-in tools, role-based access, multi-provider support. It's not a demo. It's a production-ready foundation you can extend with your own tools in minutes.
This is where things get interesting. Imagine the AI agents your SaaS could offer:
What could you build?
- A customer support agent that actually reads your docs and resolves tickets
- A data analysis agent that lets users query their dashboards in plain English
- An onboarding agent that walks new users through setup, adapting to their specific use case
- A workflow automation agent that connects user actions across your product's features
- A content generation agent that understands your product's domain and helps users create within it
Every SaaS product will have AI agents within the next two years. The question is whether you build the foundation now or bolt it on later. VibeReady gives you the foundation — auth-aware, role-gated, and ready to extend.
Why We Built It
I've been using AI for development since the very beginning of the current wave, and after 15 years of building SaaS products, I kept running into the same problem: AI coding tools are incredibly fast at generating code, but they have no sense of how that code fits into the bigger picture.
Every feature is a fresh start. The AI doesn't remember your architecture decisions, your team's conventions, or the patterns you've already established. The result is pattern drift, duplicated logic, and inconsistency that compounds fast — especially in SaaS applications where the surface area is large and the stakes are high.
Every starter gives you code. None encoded the patterns and workflows that actually work in production. So we built the framework layer we wished existed.
VibeReady is opinionated by design. We chose Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind, Drizzle, and Stripe because they represent the most productive stack for indie developers and small teams shipping SaaS today. Rather than trying to support every possible configuration, we went deep on one stack and made the AI-driven development experience exceptional for it.
What's Next
We're just getting started. Our top priority is pushing the AI Framework further — because that's what makes vibe coding actually work at scale. Here's the roadmap:
- New skills and workflows — Expanding the skill library with more SaaS patterns: complex multi-step forms, real-time features, advanced billing scenarios, and more
- AI agents and tools — Pre-built agent templates and tool integrations for the AI Assistant, so you can ship AI-powered features to your users faster
- Deeper AI tool integrations — Better support for Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and whatever comes next. The AI landscape moves fast; VibeReady will move with it
- Content and community — Deep dives on AI-driven development patterns, agent architectures, and the workflows that actually work. Building in public, sharing what we learn
We're honest about being early. The AI development landscape is evolving fast, and VibeReady will evolve with it. What won't change is the core conviction:
AI writes better code when it has better context. And the best AI-powered products are built on foundations designed for AI from day one.
